Hello everyone, this is Leslie welcoming you back for a mini neuropathy history lesson. The term neuropathy originates from the Latin root word for natural being natura,
relate to the understanding of the biology of a species when using naturopathic principles. The first advocate of naturopathic medicine was Hippocrates in 450 BCE. The more modern form of naturopathy is traced to the eighteenth and nineteenth century
under the natural healing systems. These developed practices were first documented in Austria. Back then the meaning and description was nature cures, which also pertained to the use of light, air, food, water and herbs. The term naturopathy was coined in 1895 by John Scheel and Benedict Lust from Germany. Many traditional naturopaths do consider Benedict Lust to be
the father of neuropathy. Benedict's teachings took him around the world and eventually residing in the USA, he created his second human naturopathic school in 1901. The emphasis on our animal neuropathy remains as true in its original science by respecting the animal's ancestral and biological form that has never changed. Neuropathy
definitely has its own set of individual rules and contraindications per each species which we must not ignore. There are very strict guidelines when comparing human to animal neuropathy. Please don't think what is great for a human would be the same for an animal. Every condition or disease needs a thorough understanding. And this is something we are always very specific about, especially when comparing the biological requirements and differences of an obligate carnivore to a mesocarnivore or a herbivore, as each species is completely different to each other. Notropathy emphasizes on the whole body, holistic approach of disease prevention through natural therapeutic methods that focus on both biological and anatomical function. It's based
on the principle that the body has an instringic ability to heal itself when the body is in a state of homeostasis and enabled to support good health and healing processes. Animals who undergo naturopathic treatments are treated as individuals, as any slight nuances could alter a condition and treatment outcomes. The treatment considers the entire body, from the inside out and the outside in. The focus is always to understand and treat the cause of the health issue, not just the symptoms.
